Description:
An unusual
antique cast brass door knocker in the form of an elf or pixie holds out
a lantern while perched upon a toadstool with the words "Dartmoor Pisky"
on which I found the following: "The word Pisky is a corruption of Pixy
which is of comparatively modern date ... as Pisgie,
piskie, pigsey,
of Cornwall, is based in the district of Dartmoor"
The casting has
a number on it.
Dimensions:
6.5" long x 4" x
1.5".
Condition:
The brass has a
patina, in otherwise good condition, no damage.
