Description:
Two 100 year old
Victorian carpet balls or more correctly bowls, for a game played and developed
during the reign of Queen Victoria, as a form of lawn bowling to be played
inside (on the carpet).
The point was to
position your bowl (either striped or sponged) closest to a small plain
ball while moving your opponents' bowls further away. These carpet
balls are made from fired, glazed clay and the design is hand painted.
$90 each.
Condition:
Small nicks to the
finish, in good condition.
Dimensions:
3.5" diameter.
