| Description:
A masterpiece of
1970's modern lighting design that reminds me of this poem:
"Yesterday, upon
the stair,
I met a man who
wasn’t there
He wasn’t there
again today
I wish, I wish he’d
go away..."
William Hughes Mearns
(1875 – 1965)
The lamp is nearly
not there, thanks to a design patented by Peter Hamburger that make the
wires "disappear" in the lucite.
A chrome shade hovers
above the work surface.
This striking design
is currently part of the Museum of Modern Art's collection.
